API COMPATIBILITY

Match your OpenAI-compatible API to your application.

A compatible request format is the starting point. Check the selected model’s endpoints, tool behavior, streaming and limits against the features your application actually uses.

Use the Codimixa connection values.

The API base URL is https://api.codimixa.com/v1. Authenticate with a Codimixa key and send the exact public model ID from the catalog.

Choose the API format for the selected model.

Use Responses for GPT agent tools, Messages for native Claude tools and cache controls, or Chat Completions for a compatible text workflow. The settings below give the recommended format and model-specific requirements.

Integration requirementsUse the Messages API for native Claude tool use and prompt-cache controls.

Input types and context limits describe the publisher’s model. The agent API column gives the recommended request format. Open a model for its configuration and source links.

Use the matching request shape.

Your SDK or client adapter adds the request path to https://api.codimixa.com/v1.

Match the feature to a small test.

Use a short conversation for text output, a streamed response for streaming and a complete tool request/result cycle for agent behavior. Check context and output limits using the selected model’s details.

Keep model pricing separate from API behavior.

A lower unit price does not change the format your client expects. After the required behavior works, use the model’s current Codimixa rates in your cost estimate.

A FEW DETAILS

Before you continue

Which endpoint should I choose for GPT tools?

Use /v1/responses. GPT-6.1 Sol supports tools through Responses; its Chat Completions interface is for requests without tools. GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna require reasoning_effort: none for function calling through Chat Completions.

Can I keep my SDK?

The OpenAI Python and JavaScript SDKs accept a custom base URL and API key. Set those to Codimixa and use the method for your selected API format.
